North Lake Tahoe offers exciting water and beach recreation all summer long. The crystal-clear waters of the lake provide the perfect playground for sunbathing, picnicking, and so much more. Check out what is within just a few moments of Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort.

Tahoe Tree Top AdventuresJustbehind our resort, at the North Tahoe Regional Park, try a thrilling and immersive experience in our elevated aerial trekking course that navigates through towering Pine and Incense Red Cedars. An fun outdoor recreational activity for ages 6 and up, it involves navigating through an elevated obstacle course built within the canopy of trees that challenge participants to climb, balance, swing, and zip from one platform to another. Popular among adventure enthusiasts, families, and team-building groups you will find nine courses with 87 Tree Platforms, 54 Bridges and 39 Zip Lines. There is a minimum height requirement of 49”. 

North Tahoe Regional ParkLocated just behind our resort, up National Ave, our 124 acre dog-friendly, Regional Park offers beautiful views of Lake Tahoe and is surrounded by meadows and forest. Vibrant and community-oriented, this year-round recreational park welcomes visitors of all ages and includes dozens of activities such as a children’s playground, unleashed dog park, hiking and biking trails, fitness par course, tree top adventure courses, tennis and pickle ball, disc golf course, sports fields, XC skiing, snowshoeing, community gardens, and dozens of picnic areas with tables and grills. The park also hosts various events and programs throughout the year including nature walks, and educational programs for children.

Beach Volleyball – Engage in friendly competition and join a game on the sandy shores of Kings Beach Public Beach, where volleyball courts invite spirited matches and laughter-filled moments.

Jet Skiing – Nearby at North Tahoe Water Sports you can rent jet skis and feel the thrill as you zip across the water, enjoying the exhilarating speed and adrenaline-pumping fun.

Parasailing – An awe-inspiring experience that will leave you breathless.  Harnessed to a colorful parachute as you ascend into the sky and are gently pulled by boat—a newfound perspective on Lake Tahoe’s breathtaking landscape. Also at North Tahoe Water Sports.

Off-Site Boat Rentals – Rent a boat in North Lake Tahoe from one of our local boat rental companies such as Tahoe Family Adventures where you receive 10% off your June boating adventure.

River Rafting – Awaken your senses and playful spirit this Summer with a self guided, fun-filled adventure for the entire family (2 years and up) with Truckee River Raft Company. An approximate 3 hour float trip from Tahoe City to River Ranch through tranquil stretches of scenic meadows and towering trees, lively currents and small rapids, and refreshing calm waters for swimming and frolicking. Rafting will be available later in August of 2023. 

Fly Fishing –  Cast your line into the depths of the lake, for trout and salmon.  Or, connect with a company like Tahoe Fly Fishing to enjoy the thrill of a prized catch of rainbow or brown trout on the Truckee River. Remember to obtain the necessary fishing permits and follow the local fishing regulations.

Lake Cruises – An awe-inspiring experience that will let you appreciate Lake Tahoe from a different perspective. Step aboard cruises like the The Tahoe Gal just down the road in Tahoe City and enjoy a leisurely day or evening with a narrated tour, sunset cruise, or even a romantic dinner.

Tennis and Golf – Public tennis and pickle ball courts are located at our North Tahoe Regional Park, just behind the resort.  Our nearby Old Brockway Golf Course offers a 9-hole with lake views. Northstar Golf Course Northstar Golf Course, just minutes away, offers an 18 holes perched above the meadows of Martis Valley.
