Cross Country Skiing in Lake Tahoe

Another option for gliding (and perhaps a quieter connection with nature) is Lake Tahoe cross country skiing. With a lesson or a day of practice almost anyone can put on some striders and hit the groomed trails, which are bountiful in North Lake Tahoe—with hundreds of kilometers to explore.  Often considered a more relaxing, peaceful outing cross-country or skate skiing can offer a more quintessential, authentic Tahoe snow experience. Just behind Mourelatos Resort you will find some very accessible groomed areas at family friendly North Tahoe Regional Park. For a more extensive trail system Tahoe Cross-Country center in Tahoe City is the go to with machined groomed trails, warming huts and for those willing to climb a bit, beautiful views of Lake Tahoe—perfect for all classic and skate skiing abilities. Some trails are even dog-friendly offer comparatively much lower day pass rates than lift tickets.
