If you want to hit the road consider the scenic Tahoe Rim Drive, taking you on a tour around the lake with stunning natural beauty at every turn. Check road conditions because Hwy 89 on the West Shore closes during and after storms in Winter. 

Venture a little further to historic mining towns in the region including Virginia City offering fabled gold rush history and thousands of year old petroglyphs along with breathtaking views of the Carson Range, just outside Carson City in Nevada. The petroglyphs might require a 4-wheel drive or a special tour, but well worth the trip.

SnowFest, March 2 – March 12, 2023. Don’t miss North Lake Tahoe’s unique ten-day festival encompassing over forty mountain-style events throughout Tahoe City, Kings Beach and Tahoe Vista. A family-friendly mountain Mardi Gras with over 40 events for the entire family, its one of the largest annual Winter mountain festivals on the West Coast.
