Winter 2023: Basecamp for Adventure and Events in North Lake Tahoe!  Check it all out here!

February 17, 2023 | Jill Amen

Here in North Lake Tahoe, we are shaking it up for 2023 with one of the most vibrant Winter scenes of any mountain destination. Great snowpack, awesome bluebird conditions, and fun & festive entertainment—just to name a few! It’s a dream come true for those who enjoy North Lake Tahoe’s scenic beauty. Whether you are an adrenaline seeking adventurer or an explorer of Tahoe’s hidden gems, it all starts at Lake Tahoe’s premier, family resort in North Lake Tahoe, Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort–your basecamp for adventure and events in North Lake Tahoe!

Cozy Dining & Après-Ski

For the foodies in our midst, North Lake Tahoe has a thriving local food scene. From fun toasts and gourmet dining to cozy romantic dinners, there are dozens of options for light fare and delectable dining experiences. Just minutes from Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort you’ll find local’s favorites including Lanzas for hearty Italian, Hiro’s Sushi, Gar Woods Grill and Pier, and The Soule Domain for intimate and cozy, gourmet dining. You can also take advantage of North Lake’s breweries including Alibi Ale Works for brew, pub fare for some of the best live music in Lake Tahoe, and Bear Belly Brewing Company for some local neighborhood fun. Don’t forget to check out our Aprés Ski suggestions to finish off any ideal day!

Try Something Out of Your Ordinary

If you are looking for outdoor experiences, we’ve got you covered there too! It’s not just a Winter paradise for skiers and snowboarders, but also one of the best ways to experience the serene beauty of Lake Tahoe. Try a snowy hike, snowshoe or XC ski adventure just behind Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort in our 124 acre North Tahoe Regional Park—the ultimate playground for Winter activities with dozens of groomed trails and breathtaking views of our surrounding mountains and Lake Tahoe. Connect with nature and enjoy the Winter landscape, escaping the hustle and bustle of the ski resorts.

Explore at Your Pace

If you just want to relax and enjoy the scenic beauty, simply walk outside your door at Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort to Lake Watch, gazing at its clear stillness, reflecting the snow-capped mountains and peaks. So serene and peaceful, you will simply escape into the moment. If you want to hit the road consider the scenic Tahoe Rim Drive, taking you on a tour around the lake with stunning natural beauty at every turn. Check road conditions because Hwy 89 on the West Shore closes during and after storms in Winter.

Venture a little further to historic mining towns in the region including Virginia City offering fabled gold rush history and thousands of year old petroglyphs along with breathtaking views of the Carson Range, just outside Carson City in Nevada. The petroglyphs might require a 4-wheel drive or a special tour, but well worth the trip.
